Beginning his career at Deloitte, Scott has held senior leadership roles — including CFO and COO positions — with institutional investment platforms, private development firms, and family-owned real estate enterprises such as First City Properties, Casden Properties, and Griffin Real Estate Management. Across these platforms, he has specialized in capitalization, underwriting, acquisition, development, and operational management of multifamily, master-planned communities, student housing, and commercial assets. He has negotiated and executed more than $4.0 billion in corporate and project financing through traditional debt, joint ventures, private placements, structured finance, and off-balance-sheet structures, including the formation and capitalization of a privately held apartment REIT comprising approximately 90,000 units.
In addition to his capital markets expertise, Scott has managed balance sheets with assets exceeding $6.0 billion and directed enterprise-wide operations including strategic planning, asset management, acquisitions, dispositions, operational restructuring, and financial reporting. He has extensive experience restructuring distressed debt and equity positions, stabilizing operations, improving asset performance, and preserving long-term investor capital during challenging market cycles.
